2. What the Site provides
The Site offers a free converter between Japanese era years and Western calendar years, together with reference tables and reading guides. It is provided free of charge for personal and professional reference use.
3. Accuracy
Era boundary dates follow the officially recorded transition dates of the modern eras, and we take care to keep the data correct. However, the Site is a reference aid, not an official source. For legally significant matters (contracts, government filings, genealogy submissions), always verify against the relevant official document or authority. Gregorian dates for records before January 1, 1873 are approximations, as Japan used a lunar calendar until then.
4. No warranty; limitation of liability
The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages arising from use of the Site, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
5. Acceptable use
You may not attempt to disrupt the Site, scrape it at abusive rates, or misrepresent its content as an official government source. Linking to any page is welcome.
6. Intellectual property
Page design, text, and code are protected by copyright. Factual data (era dates, year correspondences) is public information and free for anyone to use. You may quote reasonable excerpts with a link back to the Site.

The Site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Advertisers are responsible for their own content; an ad's presence is not our endorsement.
8. Changes; governing law
